The Foundation for Access to Rights (FAR) is hiring an Arabic-language translator on a fee basis. Candidates are selected on a best price–quality ratio basis.
Requirements
- Secondary education or higher
- Excellent command of Arabic; very good command of Bulgarian or English
- Excellent written communication skills and good command of social media (Facebook, TikTok, Telegram)
- Familiarity with refugee and migrant communities in Bulgaria
- Advantage: practical experience with local Arabic-speaking communities
- Advantage: familiarity with the Refugeelight.bg platform
Key tasks
- Two-way communication: disseminating reliable information across FAR's social channels; directing beneficiaries to Refugeelight.bg and the “Request Assistance” tool
- Written translation: articles, information materials, documents and content for Refugeelight.bg
- Interpreting: simultaneous interpreting at FAR's Sofia office (lawyer–client), online, and at in-person information sessions
- Monitoring online disinformation and relaying community feedback to improve services
Terms
- Remote work with periodic in-person engagements in Sofia
- We provide a work phone for communication with FAR's beneficiaries
- Pay based on volume of work completed
- Start date: as soon as possible
