For every person who has experienced gender-based violence, the road to justice and recovery is extremely difficult. And if you are also a refugee or migrant – the challenges become even greater.

ts

That is why on 17 September in Sofia, we brought together representatives of the Ministry of Interior – Border Police, Migration Directorate, Sofia Directorate of Interior, regional police directorates, the State Agency for Refugees, the Ombudsman’s institution, lawyers, as well as NGO experts for a training seminar on “Methodology for Identifying and Protecting Refugees, Survivors of Gender-Based Violence.”

ts

We discussed how to recognize survivors in the context of trauma, the legal tools available for their protection, and how institutions can work together more effectively. We also presented FAR’s new Methodology for Assessing the Needs of Refugees, Survivors of GBV.
